Somatics is a slow motion, therapeutic floor work that re-educates, re-calibrates the brain to muscle function. This neuromuscular re-patterning process gives more sensation, voluntary control, and a longer, optimum resting length to muscles, which mobilizes joints, decompresses spine, and can reduce pain and change postural issues. Clinical Somatics offers cutting edge care/repair techniques, and also calms the nervous system. The work is powerfully effective, yet gentle, making it safe for not only athletes but also people of all ages and fitness levels. Instructors of Pilates, Yoga, dance, martial arts, chiropractors, physiotherapists, massage therapists, you will find these techniques highly useful for your teaching and practice. Wear comfortable, flexible clothing and socks.
